Rishikesh is a famous tourists attractions in the Northern India lying in the foothills of Himalayas besides the holy river Ganga imparting the best of the scenic views.
Rishikesh is world renowned as a Yoga capital. Rishikesh is the holy city of Uttarakhand full of ashrams and temples filling the air with the pure serene vibes all around.
Few years back, we got the chance to stay in Uttarakhand and we really loved the charm of the place. Uttarakhand is a naturally beautiful state of India with lush green forests, mighty himalayan range, flowing rivers and having the least human invasions in the natural habitat.
So, the first thing that you will like the most about Uttarakhand is that this is the place where you get more closer to nature.
Not only you can feel that share of nature in the lesser crowded, distant and the lesser known places, but you can truly enjoy the tranquility of the place.This is the real wealth of Uttarakhand.
So, for those who want to getaway from the heavy traffic of tourists, city chaos, for them, Uttarakhand is the best place to explore oneself with nature.
Haridwar is the first pilgrimage centres which is the gateway for the journey in the Himalayan ranges of Uttarakhand. Haridwar is highly visited by the devotees around the world.
Rishikesh is few miles away from Haridwar and is the gateway for the journey of Chaar Dhaam of Uttarakhand.
The Chaar Dhaam of Uttarakhand includes Gangotri which is a glacier and origin point of river Ganga, Yamnotri, Kedarnth and Badrinath which is at high altitude in the Himalayas.
Rishikesh is famous for the temples and Ashrams around the banks of river Ganga. Swarga ashram is famous amongst all.

Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula in Rishikesh
Crossing over the hanging bridges over the river Ganga called Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula which are bisecting the river while you are in Rishikesh. Have some memorable pictures to click there on the bridge.
From one bank of the river through the bridge you get to the other side of the bank of the river where you can sit besides river Ganga to enjoy the tranquility of the place.
Or you can go for a shop in the narrow streets of Rishikesh where you can see a large number of foreigners too.
But I, highly recommend you to sit quietly somewhere near the ghats in the vicinity of Ganga river, all surrounded with Himalayan ranges of hills in order to feel that true relationship with nature.
Triveni Ghat in Rishikesh
Triveni ghat in Rishikesh is the place, confluence of all the three sacred rivers of India namely Ganga, Yamuna, Saraswati. Triveni ghat is very popular among the pilgrims and tourists to take the holy bath.
There after, watching the morning and evening aartis are the next most magnificent things to do while you are visiting on the ghats of Rishikesh.
Swarga Ashram, Beatles caves, temples are the most visiting places by the devotees and tourists around the world.
Neelkanth Mahadev temple in Rishikesh
The temple is about 30 km away from the Rishikesh is believed to be the one of the most sacred places dedicated to Lord Shiva.
According to our Hindu scriptures, it is believed that during the churning of the ocean, samudramanthan, there was an argument between Gods and demons for having the Amrita.
But Lord Shiva consumed the poison originated from the Samudramanthan and which turned His throat blue. That’s why Lord Shiva is referred as Neelkanth Mahadev. There is a presiding deity in the temple in the form of Shivalinga.

The Jungle safari offers the sightseeing of Asiatic lions, leopards, Himalyan black bear and many more. As located in the foothills of Himalayas so, here you can find a numerous varieties of vivacious wild animals.
